UnSit.me
About

The tool we wished existed.

UnSit started in a Paris apartment in late 2025. William sat 10 hours a day building software. Mathilde, an internal medicine doctor specializing in functional medicine, kept seeing the same patients with the same problem: chronic sedentarity destroying their cardiovascular and metabolic health, decade after decade.

We searched for an app that did exactly what we wanted — a gentle hourly nudge, science-backed, no surveillance, no engagement-bait, no $20/month subscription. Nothing fit. So we built it.

The principle

10 squats per hour. That's it. Backed by Cambridge — Taylor et al., British Journal of Sports Medicine 2023, showed that this protocol reduces postprandial blood sugar spikes by 52% more than a single 30-minute walk.

UnSit is the timer. The mascot is the friend. The science is the proof. You bring the squats.

Dr. Mathilde Gierens

Currently completing her medical residency in general internal medicine, defending her thesis in mid-2026 on the integration of AI in primary care. Plans to specialize in functional medicine and practice remotely from Latvia starting late 2027 — focused on the long-arc work of preventing the diseases UnSit is designed to push back against.

William D'Andréa

Software engineer, indie maker. Builds in public on Instagram (@williapile) and YouTube. Currently runs top-students.com, a TOEIC training platform. UnSit is the project he wants to grow into a global brand on workplace wellness — and the one he uses every day.

Where we're going

Short term: ship UnSit on Mac, then iPhone, then Apple Watch, all under one Universal Purchase. Long term: become the default tool for breaking up sedentary work — for individuals, then for companies (B2B coming in 2026/2027).

We're a couple, working from home, with a clear vision: prevent the diseases that today's medicine spends billions trying to cure. One squat at a time.
